One of the most charming parks in São Paulo, Dr. Fernando Costa
Park, popularly known as Agua Branca Park, was created early in
the 20th century and was meant to become the Practical School
of Fruit Cultivation and Horticulture, in an area which was, at
that time, on the outskirts of the city. Today, while in the same
place, it is located within a very populated urban area. The park
houses a variety of zoological events and exhibits as well as
leisure, artistic and cultural activities—among which are the research
and preservation of the history of agriculture in São Paulo
state. A home to three thousand fully-grown arboreal species,
the park also has a nursery with seedlings and flowers, a geological
museum and a fair with organic products, which is held on
Tuesdays and Saturdays, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.
